Default 427 FE Ignition Setup

Ok
It's been a long time and a lot of advancements in ignition systems . My 427 FE has the old single point stock distributor and coil setup . I want to install a new MSD Ignition . I'm looking at a mechanical advance MSD distributor , but what about a Ignition control ? and HVC coil ?
What works best as a system and what does a ignition control do and do I need a high voltage coil ?

Thanks ,

Peter

All you need with your distributor is a MSD Blaster coil and a 6al2 ignition box. Also, just call the guys at MSD. They're real helpful.

Also get the optional MSD capacitor -- it helps guard against surges and will protect your box. Plus, if you're going to mount your coil horizontally make sure you get the "Hi-Vibration" model and not the oil-filled Blaster coil.
