Aluminum inner rear panels
Hey, I purchased them thru Nick at Acton Custom, he had a few sets of the fiberglass panels but I was not interested. They fit great and were made a little big to allow trimming for a perfect fit. I have the drivers side finished and the pass side ready for clecos first thing tomorrow.

Karl
Great job! Can't wait to see it completed....... Fox, How is your progress? |
The short answer is... not much. The best reasons are family and money... the worst is I have a garage full of cr*p and need some space.
I have bought a welder and been doing a little practicing. I need to do some custom birdcage and bracket work at the trunk and hood... then I need to call Nick for some door help... after seeing the wheel arches of Karl's, I guess that I will have to ask Nick about that too...;) Once the frame is more or less finalized it will be off for paint/powder coat and I have a boat load of parts lying around waiting for a home. Thanks for asking... I check in to CC all the time and just need to get off my rump. -John |

finished interior foto Hey John, When you are ready, I will come to your place and we can put in 2 or 3 days of no stop assembly. You can make a big step forward with a little help. later, karl |
Hey Karl that looks awesome! Are you going to put an FIA bump in the rear bulkhead?
|
no bump
thanks..... No, I'm not going for the fia bump. I just wanna get the car done and drive it, so only the necessary items are on the list.
later, karl |
Which is why yours is together running and almost finished and I have a pile of pieces, you're doing the right thing.

Karl,
Thanks for the offer... that is one I will take you up on. Let me get the frame finalized and painted, then I'll forward you a ticket for a Dawsonville Cobra weekend assembly party... Nick is helping with the doors and such, just what the doctor ordered. Maybe you and Nick can join me in Spring '10... -John |
Hey John, We will be at road atlanta for the Porsche Club Event event at the end of march. That should be a perfect time to get work done on your 289 comp car project. I will work on patterns for the remainder of the alum closeout panels.
Thanks Marc, are you back or the east coast? You have to stop by when you have a chance, the original cobra is back from the body repairs and is in for paint. talk to you later, karl |

I've got to find some time to stop over. It seems like every day of every weekend has got something going on lately. With this being a 3 day weekend, maybe I'll have some free time. I'll have to check with the boss... ;) |
