looking for pic of Cobra restorer hood scoop
I am hoping someone can help me with a pic of the hood scoop that Cobra Restorers sells.
The offer 2 styles 1 which is standard and 1 that is larger for webers.
Please post a picture if you have the scoop for the webers.
I would like to see a finished product to see what it will look like.
Thanks

I ordered the Cobra Restorers fiberglass standard size scoop. It was so far off and fit so poorly that it was useless. I ordered an aluminum Kirkham scoop after that ($300), and it fit like a glove. I mean PERFECTLY. By the way I tried to return it to Cobra Restorers and they refused. FWIW.....

I ordered an Aluminum scoop from Cobra Restorers and had the same experience. It was twisted and would not fit the hood at all. After much conversation, they at least relented and gave me credit which I used to buy some Lucas switches. My advice is find a different source for your scoop.

I bought a carbon fiber hood scoop from Factory Five a couple years ago to match my body and it is a beautiful piece. It fits great and looks really good. I don't know if they still offer hood scoops separately, but it might be worth a try. Their price and service was really good too.

" My advice is find a different source for your scoop."
I've sourced a lot of parts for my car since 1994. I chose to delete Cobra Restorers from my list back in the 1990's. I did that after purchasing a set of carpet floor mats from them. I specifically asked if those mats would fit my car, which dimensionally is identical to an original Cobra. They said "yes they will fit." Their mats were not remotely close to fitting my car. I was fortunate there was no argument in the return of the mats and crediting my charge card.

Well,
Unfortunatly I made the mistake and purchased the scoop already (awhile back). I guess I pretty much lost my money on the scoop from the sounds of it.
The quality of the scoop did not look that good but I figured at the time the body shop needed to take care of the final product.
I guess I will never by anything else from them again.
I will check out the Kirkham scoop and purchase it from there if it will work for the Webers.

767 Jockey,
I was looking at the photos in your gallery, it looks like you have 2 styles.
One longer than the other. is this correct?
Which one is from Kirkham?

The scoop on the car when it was white was the original molded in scoop from Contemporary. That was cut off the car, the opening glassed in, and correct offset oval hole cut into the hood. Then the Kirkham scoop was painted separately and riveted onto the hood. Any pictures you see with the car painted blue is the Kirkham scoop. I don't know if I have any pictures of the painted car in my gallery. If not, look on the build thread I started in the Contemporary section of Club Cobra. I was in disbelief at how terribly the scoop I got from Cobra Restorers fit, it could have been made for a Torino for all I know. Just for the record, I have bought many items from Cobra Restorers and have never had a problem with them. It's just with the hood scoop incident that they kind of disappointed me.
The scoop I got from Kirkham fit like it was custom made for my hood. It laid right onto the hood, and you couldn't have slipped a feeler gauge under it at any point around the periphery. It really did fit perfectly, and like everything else that the Kirkham's make and sell, it has the quality of a Swiss watch. It 'ain't cheap at $300 or so, but you get what you pay for. If you need better pictures let me know and I'll get some emailed to you.

You might try these folks for your scoop:

One of the Hurricane builders bought one of their scoops and was pleased with it.

767Jockey,
I guess it is a camera illusion. I can comparing IMG_3301 to IMG_3304. The 3304 look longer compared to 3301.
Any, if you could please send me some more pic it would be helpful.
