Default Your Thoughts: Sheetmetal/SS Front Spoiler/Splitter

What do you guys think about the sheetmetal front spoilers that are utilized many times on roadrace cobras. Do they actually help street cobras with driving and what do you think of the looks? If anyone has any pics, please post them, I haven't been able to find many examples.

Default Look at "MORRIS" pictures of his cobra

Streetsnake Morris would be the one to e-mail. He is a little slow on the computor to write back. He has the full chin spoiler on the Silver Bullet. Considering that car will run in the 170 mph, and has done a ton of track and testing of this car. He would have the answers. I don't think that just adding a front spoiler is going to do everything for your cobra. The bigger thing is suspension. Shocks, Springs, sway bars, and tires all need to be taken into account to improve your handling. Unless you are driving on real smooth roads or have the spoiler about 2-3" off the ground. I wouldn't recomend it. Splitter for the radiator opening, ERA SC cars come with them all. I never did the test with and without one because I like the look of the twin fans in front. You could ask Bob P at ERA about the advantages of running both ways. Rick L.

thanks for the information. I'll take a look at Morris's gallerey. I'm not looking to take it to the track but can't decide on if I like the look of the front spoiler. Mine wouldn't be as radical as the track cars. I would want a sheetmetal one vs. a fiberglass one like backdraft offers. Again, thanks for the info.
