I read it but thought the articles on the Dodge Chargers and Barn Finds was more interesting. At least to me it was.

Default baddest track cobra

i think that is hands down........... the baddest track cobra ever. and the fact that it is a real one with the original owner is cooler yet. since he is the original owner, the modifications would be original too. therefore i don't think he ruined it at all. he just personalized it. now if he were to sell it, then if the new owner did anything to it, it would not be original. hope that makes sense. but then again, thats just me thinking out loud. but i think that 3170 would be the one to beat. me being a track kind of guy.

I have met the owner, he is a very qualified and knowlegeable individual regarding suspension mods. He has done an outstanding job. It is the modern day version of what Carrol's team would have created with a 427 Race car. This car is absolutely on rails at an Auto X. It's refreshing to see the car being driven and used for what it was perceived to have been created for (?) It is a Thundering, fuel injected, dry sumped, aninmal, that squirts from corner to corner like a pinched Watermelon seed.

Default Thank You

Thanks for all the positive comments on my car, the purists do not like what I have done, so it is nice to hear that some folks think it is OK.
Several years ago I described the changes to a gentleman who owns an original that he runs in vintage racing and he turned and walked away in disgust.

The only irreversible changes I made to the chassis are the reinforced frame tubes and they don't show. Everything else is bolted to the original chassis using existing mounting points so the car can be put back to original condition whenever necessary. I have saved all the original parts including engine, transmission, rear end, suspension, steering gear, brakes, pedals, steering wheel, radiator, seats, wheels, springs, shocks, drive shaft, windshield, grease gun, etc, etc. When I check out my widow can have it restored for auction, till then I plan to enjoy the hell out of it!

Cobra 3170,

I admire you for doing what to you want to with your own car, purests be damned. I assume you bought it because you like to drive it, not because you like to wax it or just want to be seen in it.

Default Go bruce

Bruce didn't wait very long after he bought the car to make changes. He was living in apartment so we spent some time at my house. bruce designed a fully adjustable rear sway bar . modified a caddy for the front. traded with hollman and moody for a tunnelport, ordered brakes from new zeland..ETc set the road race track record at MIS. raced an open wheeler that won the brazilian grand prix, was director of Ford SVO before he retired
