Default Anyone Else Think This is a Good Deal?

Not affliliated with the seller, but I just thought this was a very good deal on a CSX:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=130295207903

Roll bar delete, undercar exhaust, makes a nice 427 street model. Silver is nice too.

That is a nice looking car. Seems like a real competitive price.

At $44K, it makes me think twice about maybe getting a "street" companion for the garage, but then that whole discussion about shelbyracer's suspension make me a little nervous. Maybe the silver, no stripes or the fact that it's not an S/C reduces the value to most prospective buyers. I like it.

You gotta love that women's deep voice.

Mexico built car.
Don’t know why they didn’t make it a complete street version? Halfway there with the under car exhaust and hoop bumpers. They should have put in the street dash gauge lay-out and deleted the hood scoop.

Car was built during the $39,999. "sale" Shelby had going. Better make sure the front uprights are safe. Seem to be an issue with cars around this CSX#.

I did not know that. When was the sale? The front upright issue may be the reason the price was reduced for the sale.

Seems like a good deal. A guy could purchase it and turn it into an S/C for pretty short money- Roll bar, side exhaust, exhaust cut-out and a couple other minor things and you're there. None of these are difficult or expensive unless you have SAI do it for you.

$44k is just the opening bid. Any serious buyer will likely run it up well beyond that. There's probably a minimum price built into the auction that give the seller an out incase he doesn't get what he really wants.

It'd be an interesting auction to watch. How much do you think the guy is into it? $110k? Did it say?

I remember when Shelby annouced the $39995 roller price. Got me all hot and bothered, too. I'm thrilled with the ERA 289FIA I'm building, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Doug,

$43,995 is the starting bid and the "buy it now price." So if you bid the opening price, you buy it. It's a roller with an MSRP of $56.9K

Seems a decent price to me, although it is just a starting price. But for a roller that looks that great...

What I said above. You can buy the roller right now for $43,995. no more bidding...it's yours.

BTW - Once the "buy it now" price is hit, the auction closes. You can't bid higher.

I'm thinking why should this dealer make $4,000 +/- in profit in this economy? He should take a loss, just as I have on virtually everything that I've ever sold.

Doug (Got The Bug), you may have to explain the auction format one more time so that everyone will understand.

Nice roller. Very fair price.

I figure by the time the cars done with driveline with a mild 428 and final fit up your into it for $80K or so. Great price for a glass Shelby.

Street car configuration is more unique and rare.

Its a buyers market now especially with luxury toys. Values of most luxury toys are down.

If you have the money nows the time to buy into a Shelby. Hopefully the economy will turn around and your into a Shelby for a very reasonable price.

But then again if Shelby values are down then you can also get into non Shelbys for even less then before too.

Everythings relative.

I would hope that any prospective buyer for this roller would verify that all the issues that surfaced with shelbyracer's 4788 are now resolved with 4985 (the silver car on eBay).

Great price for a great looking Cobra. It wouldn't cost a sharp guy more than ten grand to make a nice running 428 w/toploader. I'm sure any front upright issues have been resolved. Let the bargains begin.

Most Good mfg'd rollers are about that price...you supply your engine, trans and drive line.
