Well, how about that time at the burger joint in Campbell, you know the restaurant with the microscopic parking and the fire truck making a Y turn in it.
I open my hood and Steve (PANAVIA) states out loud with the adoring public (Randy & Lane) checking out my car that my dipstick was "Made in Taiwan" and I should cover it so no one will notice.
Doug, you're right. our conversations are million miles away from the ones here on the CC Forum, where members insult other's Cobras.
Of course, I'm just kidding around.

I don't know... sounds like " a tone of deep hatred" to me (to coin a phrase).

Nope, no deep tone of hatred here. All in good fun. I grew up in an environment where all the car guys would "cap" on each other's cars. That's what guys do. You gotta have some humility.
I only bring it up because of the humor and irony. Also, I'm not trying to win the SAAC Concours at BeaveRun.

For sure, there's plenty of ribbing and some cheap shots for a laugh. BTW, did you replace that dispstick yet?
In the end (aside from a few guys who regularly drive their originals), they're all "Tupperware" or "Reynolds" pop-offs.

Whether it's orange headlight covers, dipsticks made in Taiwan, the "assymetry" of dual roll bars or someone's (I'm not mentioning any names) incessant belittling of the FFR, as long as we all keep everything in perspective and have fun. Life is too short.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. Chart is good.

I try to judge each car independently. They all have their plusses and minuses.
No matter who made it, they are all replicas.
So, whether you toiled for months putting yours together or simply wrote a check and drove off in it, we are all part of the brotherhood that is "Cobra Worshippers". And we each worship the "Cobra" in our own way.
Anyone can write a check for a car. Not everyone can build a car from scratch.
So, let's knock off the "mine is better than yours" BS and get back to driving and having fun?
Besides, mine is better than yours anyway!

So, instead of saying "my car is better than yours", what you're really thinking is that "I'm better than you," since you built your car from scratch.

No, actually I'm thinking "Damn, I could have written a check and saved myself six months of headaches!"

Oh, I was thinkiing of starting a thread titled "Kit Car Owner Ratings" instead of Kit Car Ratings, as this thread is titled.
Trust me, writing checks doesn't always save you time or headaches.
