I purchased my fist car from my neighbors grandmother. A 1966 comet cyclone gt with a 390 hypo. Red with white stripes, it had about 80K miles and was all original. Wish I had it now in the same condition it was then.

1953 Ford Custom, had a flat ford V8, my dad built this car when I was 12 and saved it for me, turquoise blue, blue and white interior, milk shake stain on the trunk, 3 on tree with overdrive. Put Goodyears with the white lettering ($10 apiece used) put a coil spring set up with airbags-jacked up the rear, side pipes. Blew the transmission the first week I had it and virtually ruined the car in about 2 years

The car I learned to drive in was my parents 62 VW Bug. Also took my drivers test in it.
My first car was a '67 Triumph TR4A that I bought new when I got back from Nam. Plenty of fun with that ride.

I had my first driving lesson in a 1969 Camaro SS with a 4speed transmission. I was 13 years old and as tall as I have ever been. I took my drivers test in a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 with a 390.

First car I ever drove was an early '60's 4 door AMC Rambler that my uncle let me drive down a private dirt road at around age 10. Did most of my "learning" in my dad's '76 Pinto Wagon (took the Driver's test in that one). Learned to drive a stick shift in a '84 Toyota pickup.

1966 Mustang coupe, 289 three speed. Eventually dove that car to 250,000 miles. Had to sell it because my fiancé didn't like push starting it back in college.
Drivers test in my mom's 1974 Chevy Malibu automatic because I kept chirping tires when shifting the Mustang. My dad took my license three times when I would joy ride in the '68 GMC 3/4 ton. ![Frown](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) I liked driving the four speed better.

Can't resist! I started with a 59 Morris Minor convertible "field car". It saw limited road use, but we carried 2x6's in the back seat so we could cross washed out spots. Great fun untill I holed the oil pan and it miraculously stopped smoking!

1956 buick 4-dr hardtop. Learned how to backup befor going forward. Really. The driveways were narrow between the houses and the houses were also very closed to each other. So when my two boys started the want to drive thing, you know what they did. Setup the orange cones and lets learn.

I'd say i win this one easy ![Smilie](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My brother Michael let me sit on his lap and steer his 68 hemi charger while he worked the pedals.I was like 8 years old. He was over 10 yrs older and the best brother anyone could have. Every week he'd buy me a model to build, and help me put it together. he had this dream to build a kit,and we'd wear out the pages of kitcar mags all the time.
I know he's watching down from heaven now, screaming burnouts in his charger.

1959 Plymouth 9-passenger station wagon with a typewriter transmission. Dad said if I learned to parallel park that boat, I could drive anything. Unfortunately, Dodge 2500 Ram pickups were an unknown quantity at that point! You should have heard that 318 c.i. engine scream with the air cleaner removed for "performance enhancement." (Except for the time the hood insulation got sucked into the two barrel carb.) ![Smilie](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
