427 to 460 dimension difference
Hi all you extremely knowledgable engine guy's. What is the dimensional difference between a 427 and 460 ? I am mostly wondering if a 460 is much taller than a 427 as I have no clearance between my air cleaner and hood scoop. Any info apprciated.
Thanks
Brent

460 Height
Brent, I have a '08 Ford Racing Catalog that shows the 460 crate engine height of 26 inches from bottom of front sump to the carb mounting pad when using their Ford intake as supplied. The heights will vary depending on which intake and what type of sump folks are running.
Hopefully the FE crowd will pipe in the heights they know of to give a ball park comparison

Hey Bill
It sounds like we spend too much time on the computer. No wonder I don't get anything done. Thanks for that info. Now we just need 427 specs.
