Oil Temperature Gauge Problems

I have autometer (i think) CS gauges and my oil temp is not moving. Has anyone had similiar problems? I know that these "older technology" gauges have a tendency to fail but I am hoping that isn't the case. Can anyone recommend how to properly test/diagnose if I have a faulty gauge or hopefully something else. The only time I have seen it move was when I intially had the car dynoed and they ran it extremely hard. This was a year or so ago. Since then nothing. I shot the remote oil filter fittings with a temp gun and it was around 80C, the gauge starts at 60C. Thanks for the help.
