You can get those clip things from most ski equipment or sporting goods stores. REI comes to mind, if you have one where you live. I have one clipping my hat to my parka when skiing. Works great.

I recently replaced my windshield and have not put the sun visors on the new windshield. Prior to this I had the visor pushed upwards and could feel the hat move at times. Now, there seems to be no buffeting on my hat with out the windshield visor. If you have a windshield visor try lowering the angle of the visor to prevent air pushing down (eddies) on your head.

Short hair, a good quality cap that is adjustable..tight for high speeds, very tight for extreme high speeds, and then behind the seat for 100 mph plus. Watch out for those gusty winds from passing truck...grab the bill with left had (part of my routine) and prevent a blow-off situation. The cure for the truck pass is...don't ever let them pass.
Now maybe some "ss safety wire" might be very cool...you know, run the wire through the back of the cap, do about 3 feet of twisiting with your wire pliers and hook it to you roll bar, wow! maybe this could be a new race secret?
Just buy a lot of cool caps...blow-off is a good way to get rid of the bad ones.

I thought all good Americans would just pull out the faithful roll of duct tape and solve the problem .....what happened did you lose yours? There is also the slightly more permanent crazy glue option.....lol...The clips look like the best option.

A few years ago (3-4 don't remember) Coach Mike and I were driving to the London Cobra Show. I think it was South of Elizabethtown, Ky, my long bill Cobra cap that I had bought from Finishline blew off. Side wind got it. I passed Mike and pulled over to the side of I-65. Coach pulled in front of me. He yelled back "what happen?" I yelled "my cap blew off". About that time a large tour bus passed us and my cap blew out from under the bus and stopped about 50 feet in front of Coach's Cobra. I got out of my Cobra, walk to where my cap lay, pick it up, look at it, looked great, one small scuff on it, put it on and got back in the Cobra. Mike still asking what going on?
On the return trip home about the same area the cap blew off again, but there where 50 cars behind me so I could not stop. I hope someone found my cap. I sure did like that cap.
I ordered another one. And I have a double clip string thing to keep it in the car.

Hat Stay On Attachment
For the "follically challenged" as someone put it earlier:
Attach a suction cup inside the cap up under the top center button.
Stick it to top of smooth cranium. Doesn't show, hat stays on!

I have never heard them referred to as a "Lid Latch" but that is what I wear. I picked them up about 20 years ago skiing. Downhill skiing even at moderate speeds will pull the hat right off your head. Much easier to turn around in a Cobra than to side step back up the mountain to get a hat...After loosing the first few hats and going back after them either climbing back up the mountain or returning to the lift just to find out someone had beat me to it, I started saying what the heck until I bought my first "Lid Latch".
Nice items to have for more than just driving the Cobra.

Lose the baseball hat and go "Tilley". Brim folds up on sides and snaps to crown. The strap (not shown), correctly worn, goes under the chin and behind the head (like a D.I. hat). When you wear it like that, it is absolutely not going anywhere and you can concentrate on driving.

The cover I wear is a Boonie Hat. They stay on much better than ball caps I believe because the brim is not as structured. They also have a built in chin strap. Very reasonably priced and come in several solid colors for the non-tactical look. While I have never worn one in a Cobra, I can say they have performed admirably in other high wind applications.
