No worries. I think most on this thread agree with using their seat belts, and coming to a complete stop at an intersection.

It's the use of the seat belt laws to generate money for counties and cities, and the directive given to LEOs to have quotas and goals to write these tickets.

Hey, if I get pulled over by a police officer and I do not have my seat belt on when he walks up, write the ticket, I'll pay the fine. But police have something better to do than become modern meter maids waiting behind bushes to spot the the next "law breaker" without a seatbelt on.

If safety is the goal, let's protect children that the parents don't have strapped into their car seat. I'd have no problem with a LEO waiting outside the mall to catch parents that do not have the kids buckled in. After all, the children can not be responsible for themselves, but we can be, and we are, responsible for ourselves.
