48 States in 30 days.
I'll be leaving Tucson , Arizona, on Thursday, June 4th for Oklahoma City. From there I will head for either Jackson, Mississippi, or Baton Rouge, La. Then on to Jacksonville, Fl. From there it is a straight shot to Norfolk, Va. and on to Boston. By that time I will have driven in 23 states. I'll be at the FRR Open House on June 13th. Also at the London Cobra Show on the 25th - 28th. The big part of the trip starts when I leave the LCS headed for Chicago, Ill. Hopefully it will only be a six ( maybe 7 ) day trip back to Tucson via Wisc., Minn., N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah and finally, Arizona. I hope to arrive home on July 3rd. I'll be driving a white primered FFR with the roundel #39. If you see me please honk and wave. Hope to see many of you at the FFR Open House and the LCS. JOhn

I'll be going solo. I can't find anyone dumb enough to do it with me. I figure that we only go around only one time so I am making the most of it. As for maps, yes, I do have quite a few. I have a basic route planned but realize that I may have to make some changes due to weather and road construction. I don't own a camera so all of this will be in my memory. Hope to see you guys along the way. Hey zrayr that is one sweet ride you have.

thanks for the compliment.
If your schedule allows, try US 60 thru eastern Oklahoma, or US 66 between OKC and Tulsa.
From my own experiences I can heartily endorse flexibility in both route and schedule whenever fortune favors.
Z. Ray
p.s. my favorite ride in the GT-350 was a solo run up to Las Vegas NM last year ( 1,600 miles ). You just can't beat a two lane road off the beaten track.

Hey John
John I think we met a few years back at the London Cobra Show. If so I own you a beer. Remember the Friday we took a cruise thru the back roads and got lost? I think at that time you had wore out two Cobras on the roads of America. Are you working on the third one?
Is this you?
I'll look for #39
Dwight

Yea Dwight, you pegged me. I'm only on my second Cobra. It's got 24,000 miles on it and I'll be selling it when I complete the trip. Hope to see you in London. John

Wow, this would be alot of fun! I wish I could take the time off. I saw a route that caught all the lower 48, with an optional side trip to Alaska, but it was quite a drivie. This is kind of like the Traveling Salesman route - the problem is the shortest route isn't necessarily the most driveable.
I sure hope you do this and have the time of your life! Take lots of pictures and post daily updates. It doesn't sound like you're in too much of a hurry so have a whole bunch of fun!
Oh, and by the way, if connection to Colorado takes you through the northern part instead of touching it at 4 corners, pm me and we'll buy dinner!

John from Tucson's Excellent Adventure!!
Hopefully you'll bring a computer and post your route and the details of your trip.
My cousin and his wife drove a 32 Ford Roadster from California to New Jersey and back several years ago. They have a bunch of great stories and memories to last a lifetime.

Thanks for the great comments guys. Twobjshelbys, I'll be either driving thru Cheyenne Wells to Denver or via I-80 & I-76 route 34 & I-25 to Cheyenne. Perhaps I'll do Alaska next year. I did live on Kodiak Island for two years. Sorry guys but I don't own a camera and don't have the ability to post pictures. This trip will be in my memory - I hope that all of you can do the same drive sometime Hey Got-The -Bug, I have made the drive from Tucson to the FFR Open House three times and been to the LCS five times. Right now I can appricate driving that route in a 32 Ford roadster, it's a kick in the butt !!!!!!!!!!! Hey Coach Mike, I remember you, let's talk again at the LCS. Go U OF A Baseball !!!!!!! John

John,
Great to see that you are still loving the long trips. Hope to see you at LCS. If you need a place to stay on your way to Chicago, plan to spend the night at the lake with us. Sounds like a fun trip. We remember your tips on our trip up the Pacific cost highway a few years back. Terry

may I recommend that you check with the Iron Butt Association, I think that they a have a route map that will assist you in your conquest. Keeps it down to around 10k. There are some motorcycle types that have done this in just 10 days.

Hi Terry, I look forward to seeing you at the LCS. I'll be staying with my sister who lives just west of Chicago. From Chicago west it will be a week of sitting in one seat and looking at the sun for 9 hours a day. Within me I find a certain relaxation with the mountains and big sky. I am really not looking forward to the east seaboard and the rain and traffic. See you in three weeks, John
