Default AHH, Brent or Ron...

Can we please lose the giant blue box atop the pages with the dinky FF ad? (with a 2008 street rod no less). Nothing against FF but can that small ad go in the margins with other similar sized ads???

If you remove that one, what about the Kirkham and Superformance ads on either side of it?

Oh I see, I think those are not appearing on my screen-that's why I see blue on each side with the small FF ad in the center. What prevents those ads from appearing on my screen?

Default If it bugs you that much...

I can understand how a repetitive FF ad could get on your nerves. If it bugs you that much, just put the following entry in your HOSTS file:

127.0.0.1 www.factoryfive.com

Your HOSTS file will be found in the Windows\System32\\Drivers\Etc directory. Of course, doing that will also hamper surfing to the Factory Five web site as well, but if you never go there it won't really matter.

Hey, tell us how you feel Pat!
To be clear, I don't object to the FF ad. Apparently a computer glitch is preventing me from seeing the ad space properly, with the other ads as Bill says.
Why are you a relentless Factory Five basher? I love my car too but those guys have sold more cars than ERA, KMP and several others combined. Maybe only SPF has sold as many, I don't know. Are you as negative about SPF?
Pretty good business model for a car that doesn't meet your standards.
There are a shipload of both those owners on here (far outnumbering ERA's) who's cars are as well engineered and detailed as our ERA's.

So...you do not see the three square banners? ...just the center one?

Occasionaly I see the ads drop (little red "x" box). They usually pop back the next day though.

ERA Chas, Patrick was just funnin'. Need to lighten up a little. FF is one of the least accurate mfg's out there as opposed to ERA and others so they get picked on a little. Goes with targeting the budget builder market.

I'm cool Ron but don't want my thread to look like a bash on any mfgr.
Pat's entitled to his opinion, just don't want it to appear as MY opinion.

I'm curious...are you running any "Internet Security" software or any ad block/popup block helpers?

What browser are you using (IE, Firefox, etc.)..what version?

Yes Ron,
Have Adblock (and don't know what else) and runs on Firefox. Don't know the version-I'm total electron dummy.

Let's see if Adblock is doing it...

Right-click on the blank area to the left or right of the FFR ad, and see if Adblock is checked in the menu...or see if that ad is blocked in the list.

No biggie...just using your symptom to troubleshoot, seeing if we have a coding problem.

If you can't find the settings, don't worry.

OK Ron,
Right clicking the blue did not reveal anything, even went in 'properties' and it just said 'printed in English'.

BUT-In the toolbar at the top there's a small red 'stop sign' that says 'ABP'.
Clicking that revealed three lines of code in red, the rest black and said 'blocked 3 of 90 images on this page'. I tried to copy and paste here but won't let me.

OK...not to worry.. I figured it out from the clues at hand.

The two outside banner ads (the ones that you don't see) are rendered in a different programming manner than the center ad (the one you do see).

As such, the AdBlock is extinguishing the script that displays just those two.

Let it be... we'll address it backstage.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for your time and help Ron.

PS-We both need a life, a georgous day and we're playing keyboard games.
Actually I went nuts yesterday and ran a tank of gas. About 15 minutes worth.

I wasn't seeing those images either, but they appeared after I disabled Adblock Plus.

Maybe it's the adclick in the link URL that's doing it.

Thanks, Bob. Those two banners use a different php script to call the link up on a click.
All the others on the page use an older style script.

Apparently, the "new" style script gives Adblock gas.

(or, maybe, Adblock "works" on the new script better? :-)
