Default Identify, Please (air cleaner parts)

Following is a picture of an Air Cleaner (top and bottom) that I received when I purchased my Cobra a few years ago. It's probably really old. - possibly from the 1960's.

1. Is this an original 'part' for a real Cobra or is it an aftermarket item?

2. I'm assuming that it's for a 2-4 barrel setup or perhaps not with the one hole in the middle of the bottom section (each section is 21" by 10" [huge air cleaner])?

3. Any idea where to get the middle part - the Air Cleaner element?

4. Are there other parts missing - this is all I have?

I'm thinking about doing something with it in the future, just wanted to know some history, if available from someone here. Although, it's surprisingly heavy material.
Thanks.

its a reproduction of the 2 four bbl air cleaner made with a base to fit a single 4.
i have one too, K&N makes an element....# C207AB
there's a flat piece of steel missing it has a hole in center to attach to the carb stud in the airhorn, and two studs to tighten the air cleaner down. i will look to see if i have the bracket, i'll make a drawing of it

I'd love to help you, but I can't see anything beyond your wonderful avatar.

Thanks.

What about the air cleaner element that fits between the top and bottom?

Nevermind - I see you also posted that information, thanks again.

By the way, Fred - do you have one on your Cobra? Why are they so heavy and is there any real advantage to using one or is it just a good look and functional?

i have a dual 4 bbl one on right now, but only because i can't find anything better to fit under the hood. they are restrictive for flow purposes, so if you can get a bigger filter element under the hood use it. the # i gave you was for the element i can use under my hood. its about 1.75 inches thick. K&N does make a thicker element the same oval size. i think summit racing has them shown on their web site. they are so heavy because they are cast aluminum.
