About 1.5 hours north of LA in the middle of nowhere. Perfect location for a racetrack. Great Track.

This reminds me why I lose interest in SAAC. Year after year of SAAC conventions on the West Coast. One year on the east coast. Then middle of the country (Pittsburgh) then back to more year after year of SAAC conventions on the West Coast.

The West Coast has Shelby events all year long. The east coast is not as fortunate to have the same weather all year long.

Just rejoined after years away from SAAC. I think I'll let my membership lapse once again.

BS.

Thanks Ron. I was just thinking "why don't they ever have one in Northern California"?

Yes, thank you Ron for posting the list. I thought CA gets very few conventions. Two? East Coast bias, just like the sports media. It's always about the ACC, SEC or the Big East

The last one I attended had to be Infineon in 1988. My guess is that CA racetracks are just too darn expensive.

Yup...that...and finding an available weekend that's not booked for multi-year returns.

Maybe they'll pro-rate your membership and give you a partial refund, if you have your resignation letter on their desk in the morning, promise never to join again and cease and desist using their name to underpin any of your points of view .

When did Pittsburgh move to the middle of the country?

Well, there's nothing West of the Mississppi, right?

So PA would be in the middle.

I suppose your definition of the east coast only includes NJ? Is Pittsburgh any further than say North Carolina?

Hows about us poor, dumb cajuns here in Louisiana????????, yes we do have a couple of real Shelbys and real Cobras down here....

The nearest convention to us folks here was in Nashville, only a 10 hour drive, and it "only" took me 16 hours to get to VIR in 06!!!!!!!!!

And then I see folks *****ing and moaning about having to drive more than 2 hours to get to a convention!!!!!!!! Give me a break!!!!!!!!!

You know come to think of it, one SAAC Convention on the West Coast every decade does seem like a lot. It's all a matter of perception. I see Evan's point.

Hey, five hours from the Bay Area ain't too bad.

Man you guys are brutal. But, that was kind of bone-headed. Besides, maybe Pittsburgh is in the middle of the country in like Metric or something.

Nope. I didn't research it. Don't have the time or sufficient interest. I was basing it on my recollection of recent years. I should have refined my statement however since my point is that rarely has SAAC had its convention on the east coast in more recent years.

Thanks for posting the list though. You made my point for me.

Looking at your list it is clear that out of the last 8 years the SAAC convention has found its way to the East Coast only once and I don't consider VIR or Beaverun the east coast. Its at least an 8 hour drive with a trailer to each of those sites.

Although I'm not sure, I'd be willing to bet that the majority of members are on both coasts. Don't care enough to research that either.

Have a nice day.
