Default Upholstery Dye Source

I need to do some touch up work on my seats (red leather) but cannot seem to get the local upholstery shops interested in getting some dye for me. Does anyone have a good source for leather dye? I realize I may have some problems with the color match if I buy on-line, but I am hoping there are some places that have some good color chips on line so I can get close.

Hope everybody has a good 4th!!!

Jay

Jay,
A very proffessional product is called "Mar-Hyde". I have used it to completely change interior color The last one I did was an older Cadillac from White to Blue. Normally found in the larger autobody stores. The only secret is to have the "piece" clean and dry AND even though Mar-Hyde drys in seconds, make sure it is put on in very lite coats! Once done and totally dry it will NOT peel, crack or fade. Great stuff. (You can get it in spray cans or even quarts to be sprayed with a paint gun!)

You can check the web for it but I have always gotten it from my paint supplier- Good Luck, I know if you use it you will like it!

Thanks for the lead. So far I have only been able to find it for re-doing vinyl. Do they make a leather version that I have just not found yet?

Jay,
MAR-Hyde IS for either one, vinyl or leather. It actually was sold at first for doing leather. (The Caddy I did was leather.) Many Cobras later, I'm still using it!
