Cobrabill: Check NADA for a fair value. They use them at classic car auctions so I trust their evaluations. They are on line as well. I have a 96 SVT with 27k miles and NADA says it is worth what they are asking for the 95 However, I would not sell mine for that.

Great cars though, good luck,Byron

That is a little pricey for a FFR donor car.

I wouldn't make it a donor but it would a lot cheaper to race than a cobra (I have twice that much in my engine).

Last year of the 5.0 96 has the 4.6 Mod motor so some value it a bit more. For a daily driver it looks to be a decent deal. If you are looking to strip it down and modify it for a track car, there are others out there that would be cheaper. If you are planning on changing out the engine, all the Mustang guys I know say they wish they had just gotten a V6 because they end up changing everything else out anyway.

Wasn't 95 the only year the Cobra was available with the 351W motor?

What a tease. How about posting a link. That's my favorite SVT Cobra and probably the only one that will be worth real money years from now.

I just put the ad up on CC...this is the second 95R offered to the public and it has an interesting history. Enjoy!

The Mustang the OP posted is too much money. Regular '94/'95 Mustangs do not hold their value well... and that one is too much money.

John's 95R, however, is a GREAT deal!

That car would easily bring asking price over here on the east coast. Good cars are getting scarce around here.

Mustang SVT Cobras are a dime a dozen?? I support the contention that since it is the last Windsor powered car makes it have some long range value. I wouldn't think the price is out of line, although it's no steal. My recollection is they were well sorted out, although John's Cobra "R" is much more desirable.

There's a high content of military around here which loads this area with cars of that nature. Accordingly, that tends to depreciate value significantly. Performance wise, they're definately not on par with what's out there today either.

Seller's Description and Comments
"One owner, Non-smoker, Well maintained, All scheduled maintenance, Always garaged, Custom wheels, No accidents, Very clean interior, COBRA MODIFICATONS: PRO M 77 MIL. MASS AIR METER BBK 70 MIL. THROTTLE BODY UPPER MANIFOLD PORT MATCH TO LOWER LOWER MANIFOLD RACE PORTED AND POLISHED HEADS RACE PORTED AND POLISHED, 3 ANGLE VALVE JOB, SHAVE POINT .030 - 1 5/8 SHORTY HEADERS - 2 1/2 OFF ROAD H-PIPE 3/55 RING AND PINION STEEDA SHIFTER BUSHINGS KING COBRA CLUTH KIT"

Could be 87K very hard miles. I would at the least check out the engine real well for compression/leak down. Get a scope camera and look inside the cylinders. Or at the least be prepaired for a rebuild sooner than later.

The 94/95 SVT Cobras are real dogs- the magazine tests had them running a few tenths slower than the 94/95 GTs because of weight, despite their intake mods. The standard SVT Cobras DO NOT come with a 351W, just a very mildly modded 302.

I owned a 94 GT way back in the day (part of the origin of my screen name, which stuck). They're fun cars to mod and easy to work on, but if I were looking to track one, I'd buy a 90-93 LX 5.0 or 93 Cobra (now these are getting pricey). They're at least 5/10 quicker in the 1/4, and feel much lighter on their feet in the turns. I modded my 94- it kept up with a late 90's Z28 on the highway (quick back then!), but it handled like a pig, and the butt-rise during braking was the stuff of neighborhood legends. The earlier body handles much better. The old GTs and Cobras had a 4-link in the rear with no panhard bar- at a minimum you'll need the bar to get rid of the rear end tail-wag.
If you must get a 94-95, start with the GT. They also look much nicer with the side skirts removed.

-Dave
