Default HSR at Road Atlanta 8/21-8/23?

Mitty vs HSR and SVRA events at Road Atlanta

I go to the Mitty every year and, even though the high $ cars have been fewer the last couple of years, I still thoroughly enjoy it.
How does the HSR, sponsored by Classic Motorsports in August, and the SVRA event in October, compare to the Mitty and each other as far as number and quality of cars?
Open paddock at both events?
What's the basic difference between HSR and SVRA? Seems like they would be pretty similar. Kind of like SCCA and NASA?

Any info would be appreciated. I'd like to go to at least one of them and if I can only go to one, which one do I pick? Since SVRA is so close to Run and Gun, I might have to skip it unless you guys say it's real good.

Thanks

Another Florence guy. I'm thinking about heading over there for a weekend to scope it out has a future habitat. I hear you can still find affordable water-front property. Also a healthy Cobra community. Hmmm.

Tony,
You may want to try Pickwick or Yellow Creek (they aren't too far from Florence) for waterfront property but it ain't my definition of affordable. Waterloo, AL is very nice. Clifton, TN in Wayne county, TN has some nice riverfront property as well.

Yeah, Tony, JWilly has pretty much got it pegged. If you can find property that TVA doesn't own and isn't too close to one of the bigger cities, I think you may find something affordable. Prime lakefront is just like anywhere, pretty expensive. But, just like anywhere, everything's relative. Compared to Lake Lanier (with water), it might be cheap.
Considering the area, we've got a pretty good sized Cobra group. About a dozen in the N AL, S TN area. We get together every Friday night for dinner, usually 3-4 Cobras or so. But we had 9 Cobras and a Prowler a few weekends ago.
DWIGHT is the leader and coordinator, Algunruner@aol.com. Have him put you an his mailing list and come on by some time. This time of year, several of the guys usually get together and hit a car show on Sat.
