I saw this car last year at Hall Fabrication in Benicia getting a refreshening, but keeping the patina:

Hey Tim, there's your Torq Thrusts on a 289 body. Original magnesium Torq Thrusts.

Those headers are originals I believe from the 60's.

Not affiliated in anyway.

If I remember correctly, I think there was an issue with a 289 cobra with Hall Fabricationg out in CA. I think the serial number plate came up on ebay for sale, with the story the car was completely demolished, and somebody kept the tag. But, then it appeared that the car was already live and well, bringing up the question whether the car was an air car. Does anybody have any info on that car?

The Corvette people were completely demoralized."

This is Lewis Downs' old 289 - he wrote quite a bit about it for the Nor Cal Shelby Club. The pics looks like it's a Canepa's...maybe I'm wrong.

It was definitely in Canepa's magazine ad, like Sports Car Market and such. The car was left as raced.

This is not the car.

Previous discussions about that issue here, several years ago, caused some off-line problems. We would not want to revisit those problems.

Please keep this discussion about CSX2493

Thanks

Rodney,

Don't know what it is, but I like the look of those wheels ... for me I'll go with the polished lip and black spokes.

Uncork those headers and stand back ... I bet this car Loud!

That Cobra was just up for sale at Canepa. Actually, the background for the pictures I recognize as being in front of Canepa on Scotts Valley drive.

Nice car. Ride height due to unsettled suspension? I know it took a couple of months for mine to finally settle. Kevin at Performance Art did a perfect job setting mine up to settle right where I like it.
