Not to rain on anybody's parade, but oil pans do rust through.Personally have played around with cars all my adult life,it happenes especially in the Northern hemisphere with condensation and from the inside out. This corrosion on the Canton pans is what concerns me.My Cobra sat for almost 5 yrs and that was one of the first things I noticed.I wiped mine down with WD-40 just to see what I could see.It appeared to be just an anodizing issue. Thanks for the help.

See David? I was right. I think you should pull your oil pan today, wipe it out, and inspect the inside for signs of rust. Report back to us on that. We'll be checking our emails while we're at the BBQ, but we'll be thinking about you.

We have moved from Zinc Dicromate in some of the screw platings for some of the cars parts as it will react to some weather conditions.

My Canton pan fights paint. I have painted it three times so far. I have not seen the any white corrosion, and we salt everything in the winter.

And don't worry about Pat, he secretly is out pulling his pan right now to check for white corrosion.
