Menacing
After we get done with all the trailer queen photos :), perhaps we can switch to a few pages of truly menacing Cobras. Here is one that not only looked good, but performed incredibly well compared to many other full blown race cars on the track.
Seeing this scenario play out at Laguna Seca, watching Mac Archer in #22 was nothing less than spectacular, him (Being required to start at the back of the pack) threading through the needle of cars blowing off can-am cars, full tilt Ferraris, or whatever was running that year.., coming down the straight like a freight train into 1st or 2nd place in most occassions. Well prepped, low, loud, fast, and just a mean car and capable driver. It was obvious he knew the track as well as anyone, however it was awe inspiring to see, hear, and experience. I will never forget the year of Ferrari at Laguna; last turn of the race, all the way from last place to the back to the front picking off Ferraris one at a time, all the way to 1st coming down the straight on the very last turn, pushing to the limits. It was amazing and a menacing car to see. I don't think that was suppose to happen. I spoke with him right after he pulled into the pits, you could still see the adrenaline running too. One of those times you never forget :) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...aCorkscrew.jpg Look closely at what is behind him. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...2000archer.jpg |

Another one, menacing and historical in its own way.

Don't mess with this Cobra, intimidating - yes, especially in dirt, at elevation watchng him do his thing at the hill climb. We thought it might be a joke the first year at the Cobra Bash when he showed up with it; propane powered and all. Then he started it, and revved the engine on exit; almost blowing some spectator lady's hair right off her scalp. Scared the friggin daylights out of her...
