Default Wiring Harnesses

I sold my GT40 so I can fund my son's college education at UCSB. He starts classes next week. Well, while he is getting smart, I am putting away spare change in order to build a 289FIA replica - probably Unique. I have been researching components and have found a wide variation on wiring harnesses. Why such a wide variation on costs for similar packages? Are some really better or worse than others? Are there companies I should stay away from?

Thanks
Bill

I think in the case of wireing harnesses you get what you pay for .... some of the high price ones come with swithches and plugs and great instructions and the lower price ones don't have switches or plugs and instructions that are less than helpful......I learned this the hard way........next time I will spend the money for a well equiped one

I have heard stories about some harnesses going with cheaper and smaller wire to get cost down. It is not good to go too small on the wire size as it causes higher resistance and heat. Can generate a lot of electrical ghosts as well.

Default wire harness

Hello, I used the Ron Francis cobra wire harness and it was very nice, had great instructions and was supplied with some of the switches & hardware. I did purchase more items to complete the set. Each wire has writing along the entire length to let the user know what the wire is for. My only complaint is they chared me 32.00 to pack and ship the box that was 7.00 UPS charges.
good luck, karl
