Default Side view Mirror

From what I've heard and read seems like Side-view mirrors do not provide the best visibility.

What about mounting the mirrors on the doors so you can see them better? It's not period correct, but so what? It may make the driving experience a little safer.

What do you think?

Also see my other thread on the Rear-view mirror.

Go to autozone and get a convex mirror for 3 or 4 dollars, then place it in your sideview mirror. One housing I had, had a split ring, remove it and switch mirrors. Another one was spring loaded, so I just put the convex mirror over the plain mirror, greatly improves vision.

On the doors will not work either because of the wheel bulge. It would certainly not look right.

I like Bill's side view also. If those don't work for you or you are looking for a different look here is a good site http://dougthorleyheaders.com/products/sfID1/3

Thanks for the great suggestions. Now I need to see what the optimum solution would be for my car.

Thanks,

Arthur

Just go to Pep Boys and get a couple of "Nanny Mirrors". The attach to the windshield with a suction cup and give terrific visability to the rear.
