Hood Scoop question
Hey fellas. Still not giving up on my dream of eventually owning one of these cars I am always looking for options, how I want to build mine when the time comes.. I found this video but the website is in Swedish and honestly unless it involves a hot blonde my Swedish is a lil rusty. Looking for information on the hood and scoop. I am planning on doing a Factory Five car with a big block. Would a hood like this be an option. I think it looks MUCH meaner than the the traditional style small scoop.

Mine has a 514ci and I would like a smaller scoop but my scoop is full of carb. and air cleaner. My scoop is a Harwood aero scoop. My car was definately used for drag racing before I got it.

Either of you fellas have some pictures you wouldnt mind sharing. I have had some big block cars in the past but went back to a forced induction small block. (its now for sale) so eventually I'll get that BB powered Cobra.

Thanks fellas. Those are the scoops im trying to avoid. I dont mind a semi larger scoop / air inlet (like whats on the car in the video) but I want to avoid the "Race style" scoops.

I have an older EM 427 replica. It has a glassed on scoop as part of the hood. I have a FE 427 with inline dual four Holleys. Currently I have two Stelling & Helling air cleaners. Even they are trimed down slightly. S&H aircleaners are two strips of perferated steel formed into an inner and outer ring and spot welded, with a ring of foam in between and a chromed top and bottom. I have trimmed the rings down on the opisite side from the spot welds so the tops are tapered a bit. They still touch the hood . The front 1/3rd of the front aircleaner is under the hood infront of the scoop. The rear aircleaner touched the rear part of the scoop. What I had pictured is a larger scoop a little taller, longer, and wider mounted backward to make a cowl induction scoop. If I were to open the hood any more forward with a forward facing scoop, it would let any rain come in on the distrbuter. I'm still looking for that perfect scoop that willlook some what appropriate and let me improve my induction setup.

hood scoop
I have a Lone Star and their hoods scoops are larger than most, but I don't think you could buy their hood and install it on a FFR. They're not much taller but they are wide. It's easy to put a larger air cleaner under this hood.
