Just got an email that Scottsdale March 16-18 is open for registration . Are you going to be there?

I want to Tony, but just had Carpal Tunnel operation on my left hand need to do right hand and recover. We are going to try to make it just to test the new EFI tune.

The car will be in the Grand National Roadster show in the Muscle car exhibit
the end of January at Pomona Fairplex.

We plan on testing the traction control in late February at Crows Landing. We should be able to make Scottsdale if all goes well, and I can work on the car.

I am curious about your toe change in bump and droop at the rear axle. And your intial setting (at 5 inch ground clearance?).

We had a street 427 in the shop (and a Kirkham with tubular a-arms) and it was a constant "chasing our own tail" experience.

With 750 lbin in the rear your toe won't change much, I guess ..

Rear ride height is 3.5 to 3.75" front is 2.9" we get quite a lot of suspension movement, rear toe varies on courses. We run 0 rear toe on tight autoxs, faster stuff gets .060 to .125 total toe in. The car has virtually no bump steer through 4" of travel 2" up and 2" down. I clamp a laser to a spacer that mounts to the rear brake disk and aim it at a target board about 20 feet away to exaggerate toe change measurement.
I get some track change but toe change is so small it is insignificant.
I have spent an enormous amount of time getting this right because it makes the car very stable. I have NMB aero space grade rod ends on all suspension links including the one that used to have a spherical bearing and no rubber mounts.

PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND ZERO REAR TOE FOR ANYTHING BUT A TIGHT AUTOX COURSE AND NEVER FOR THE STREET OR TRACK!

My steering is power assisted with 1 turn lock to lock and Scott has the fastest hands in the west, so that is how we get away with it.

I see. Similar what Morris did: Take all toe change of the rear suspension out.
It was meant well (I suppose) to help into the corners in the 60s, but recent tires probably more than make up for that need, and zero bump steer is the way to go.

4" total travel is very little :-)

Original cars had a rubber mounted rear toe link that caused toe in under throttle so they under steered excessively, that coupled with reverse Akerman on the 427's made them pretty bad. I think they were trying to make them safer.
