The 750K streetable Ford GT is exactly that - the street Ford GT. If you read all of the press on the MkII the goal was exactly the opposite - produce an unfettered race car. The race version of the Ford GT is hampered by all of the Balance of Performance constraints that turn the FGT into a 70's technology Corvette (since that is its competition). So the MkII ditched all of the horse hobbles, including tons (well, as the video says, 150kg) of street safety stuff like air bags, added a full racing cage and fixed aerodynamics. The FIA car also had a fixed wing but it's design is "constrained" to a physical dimension and other rules, whereas this car opens the design to do all it can. The result is an unfettered race car that we've all wondered how it will perform. They will find their way into some race teams and we'll see.
The one thing the COULD NOT do was change the engine. There could NOT be a V8. The Ford GT was "built around" the physical dimensions of the V6. The V6 was chosen because of the HP:Weight advantage of a turbo V6 vs a normally aspirated V8. FIA rules require V8 be normally aspirated and you get much more horsepower and weight advantage with a turbo 6. So no V8 in the MkII.
