OPEN TRACK EVENT
ALABAMA CHAPTER
OF THE
SHELBY AMERICAN AUTO CLUB
IS SPONSORING AN OPEN TRACK EVENT MARCH 17, 2002 AT THE TALLADEGA GRAN PRIX RACEWAY. OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS WITH ANY BRAND/MODEL OF CAR (except Corvettes, Vipers).

HELMETS AND SHOULDER/LAP BELT REQUIRED. DRIVERS MUST ATTEND DRIVERS MEETING. CARS WILL BE TECHED. Liability insurance provided, 5 run groups consisting of 4 cars per group.

Cost for participation, $150.

Today started out as a complete bust...blown fuse in the truck as we turned onto the street to load the car. It was the fuse for the ABS and you know in a big old Ford truck if that light comes on you can't take the damn thing out of Park till you fix it.....Oh well a few well places curses and four fuses latter we were off to the race track...The weather looked really sh$%^ (you know what I mean) like we were getting to burn a tank of fuel to get there and turn around and come home cause it was raining like H%^&. Well the trip went flawlessly and then we turned in at the track and the sun came out....Lots of SPF 45 latter every body had used all there gas, had a great lunch and enjoyed a great sunny Alabama day at the track...Guys were there from Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee..we had a Ferrarri, some Porshe, some Snakes of various pedigree, a Lotus, A Spec SCCA racer and the full complement of Mustangs. God I wonder what the poor people did today.. Everybody got all the track time that either their butt could handle or they just wore out their old steed...Man you could have broke me that we would have had seven hours of sunshine.....20 cars went home happy and about twice that many people after all the rides given... Oh well, time to get a little rest and wish all you guys and girls a happy good night....LAD Racing LLC...just richard and linda
