Hmmmm, John...
Mothers' Day is the first event at Watkins Glen? Is next year a definite? I'll have to keep that in mind for next year. My wife is already sort of onboard with the idea of coming to the Glen. Neither family will be too upset with us, because both of our mothers are deceased (not meant to be funny at all, but it's just fact). I'll have to mark the long range calender and keep my fingers crossed.
As for the painting. John, have you ever seen the show on TLC called Trading Spaces? Where they work all day two days straight on a neighbors house to re-decorate a room? Well, that's what I did to my house 4th of July weekend, so that I could come racing. I worked 3 straight days from 8:30 am until about 10:00 pm (with a 3 hour break for a quick cruise night visit) completely painting my family room and kitchen. And I mean everything, from moving furninture, removing electrical outlet covers, taping the ceiling for edging, painting the ceiling, taking down and putting back up the blinds....... By the end of the third day, the thought of a paint brush made me nauseous. All of this while my wife was at the beach, spending the weekend with her sister. But it was all worth it for a great day of racing.

JM,
What have we started here? One day at Pocono and Steve is already planning on skipping out on Mothers Day next year.Forget next year Steve, we still got two more events at the Glen this year. That's five days of trying to burn the tires off of your FFR. Tell the missus your going racing with the Crankoids at the Glen, she will understand. It's a man thing and we must do what we have to do.
Start saying this around the House, Must get to the Glen, Must get to the Glen, Must get to the Glen. She will get so tired of hearing that, she will insist you go to the Glen so you can give her some piece and quiet.
It worked for me, my wife loves it when I am gone, no cooking, nobody snoring, nobody messing up her kitchen.
Repeat after me, MUST GET TO THE GLEN,MUST GET TO THE GLEN

Cranky,
For me, it's MUST GO TO THE BAHAMAS, MUST GO TO THE BAHAMAS....
Can't go in August, as I'm already paid for the Pocono event and have no way to tow the Cobra to the Glen in that short notice (not to mention most of my money is spent for the below reason).
In October, the missus and I will be soaking up the rays on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It's our last big vacation before D-day (children). MUST GO TO THE BAHAMAS, MUST GO TO THE BAHAMAS....
Is there a Club Crankettes? Gotta be an equal opportunity club, you know, being politically correct and all....

Steve: Why don't you post your home number and we can all call your wife. I'm sure she won't mind after hearing from all of us.
John: Forget the house, how long is it going to take you to finish that Cobra??????????

Ahhhh!
Finnaly made it home from New Jersey. Left for work on Tuesday night, just made it back to CT (home).
Never thought I see the replys to my message.
Now I HAVE to make it to the Glen.
August 19th and 20th???
I have no track experience.
Is there a place to set a tent?
Is this something that both my brother and I can
do with just one Cobra?
Thanks for the push..

Sold out?
Todd,
I beleive the novice classes are sold out for August 19,20 at the Glen.
Try PDA at the Glen October 4,5,6 Probably still lots of openings.
Or try PDA at Pocono August 10,11
Better yet go to their site. www.imp-auto.com still lots of open track days this year.
