PAUL FIX RACING EARNS TOUGH TEAM AWARD FROM WESTWARD TOOLS
06:19:20 on Oct 31, 2002

Paul Fix (#77 Competition Life Insurance/Hotel Monaco/Royal Purple Synthetic Oil Jaguar XKR) earned the Westward Tools Tough Team Award for advancing the most combined places over the course of the 2002 Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup season.

ALTON, Va. (October 30, 2002) – Paul Fix (#77 Competition Life Insurance/Hotel Monaco/Royal Purple Synthetic Oil Jaguar XKR) earned the Westward Tools Tough Team Award for advancing the most combined places over the course of the 2002 Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup season.

The final race of the season saw Paul Fix and the #77 Competition Life Insurance Jaguar XKR battling in the season finale at Virginia International Raceway. When the checkered flag fell, Paul finished 12th, putting him in 11th place in the season-long championship standings.

Paul's finish marked a dramatic improvement over last year's point standings and was noted at the annual Trans-Am Series Awards banquet by fellow drivers and teams. The Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup will release its 2003 schedule soon.

Fix’s 2002 year-end standings are as follows: 11th in Championship points; five top-10 finishes, three MSD Hard Charger awards and the Westward Tools Tough Team Award. Paul was also nominated for the Most Improved Driver of 2002.

“We did very well this weekend, but not enough to be where we want to be in the points. We will be back next year in Trans-Am with enhancements,” said Fix.

Fix Motorsports was supported by numerous sponsors over the course of the 2002 Trans-Am season, including Classic Tube Prebent Tubing Products; Royal Purple Synthetic Oils; Mother's Waxes & Polishes and Competition Life Insurance; Hotel Monaco.com and the Kimpton Group Hotels; Buca di Beppo Restaurants; East Side Mario’s; Bertucci’s Brick Oven Pizzas; FitDV.com; Mechanix Wear; Wix Filters and Zone Perfect Nutrition.
