Roscoe,
Pocono is the appetizer, the Glen is the Main Course.

Can I ask how much "behind the wheel" time you get?

At most tracks 20-25 min. 4 sessions a day. 25 min. is about the average time of a sprint race. You will be tired by the end of the day.

At the Glen last Oct with PDA, the run groups were 40+ minutes each. Cranky, we know why you were only out there for 3 or 4 minutes. I had to watch for the tell-tales of running out of gas (both car and driver!) every session. 8 gallons doesn't go very long out at the Glen. But 25-30 minutes is about average at most every other event.

4 sessions at 20-25 min each and it's like riding in a jet fighter in the middle of a dogfight. Very exhausting but what a rush!

Here in Nor Calif. The prices are not as bad as at the Glen. At Sears Point and Laguna Seca, you get an all day (4x25min. runs) for $230. At ThunderHill, it's $190. There's one club in So Calif. that runs at Willow Springs for $125.

California is a very expensive place to live. But I guess racing isn't so bad. Must be the competition. There's a ton of tracks up and down the state. And we can race all year.

Lew,
Both Pocono and Watkins Glen are Nascar tracks and the Glen is owned outright by Nascar. The France family didn't become billionaires by giving away track time. Also your tracks probably operate all year, the Glen and Pocono operate only 6 months a year.
We probably have as many tracks here in the East but they are devided among many East Coast states. Your one state is almost as big as the Entire East Coast.
Like you really needed a geography lesson.

Someday I'll get to drive the West Coast tracks.

You should give it a try. Come out to Calif. And within a span of three weeks, you'll probably be able to drive in open track events, on all the major tracks. It would make for a great vacation, and you could hook up with a lot of the Club Cobra guys while here in Cal.

Cranky

It sounds like a good idea for a winter vacation for next year. Club Cranky does the West Coast! Count me in.
