What do ya take racing besides your car?
This may be an elementary and unnecessary thread but I thought it might benifit others and someone may point out something I am forgetting:
1. Trailer loaded w/ Cobra wth extra set of tires, wheels, lug nuts and trailer spare
2. Fuel containers (I have a 15 gal barrell and a 6 gal container), oil chg container and 1"x24"x48"catch pan
3. Fluids and Lubricants: oil, grease,WD 40,brake fluid, anti-freeze, windex, paper towels and chamios, fender covers.
4.Tools etc. normal compliment of hand tools plus: timing light, volt meter, torque wrench, allen wrenches, feeler gaughes, pick up magnet,vaccuum gauge, dial calipers, tire press gauge, mighty vac, die grinder, propane torch, air hose with air chuck and air gun, Electric drill and Flash lights, Extension cord and drop light, carb tune kit, dist springs (MSD), floor jack and jack stands.
5. Other: New or Used set of spark plugs and plug wires. Xtra V-belt rad hose. xtra set front brake pads, sealants (permatex), xtra fuel pump and just in case I am bringing an extra oil pump and MSD Box, coil, DUCT TAPE, Elect tape, Teflon tape, bungi cords, plastic ties, shop rags , bolts, nuts, screws, fuse assortment.
6. Special items: Welder, trans jack, canope, lawn chairs, Ice chest with supplies incl koozies, stop watch, walkie talkies
7. Kitchen sink
Granted most or maybe none of these things will be used but if you need them it is better than wishing you had them.

I forgot to bring the sink.......
Man, I guess I been leaving to much stuff behind!
I don't have a trailor so I get someone to drive the Cobra and I drive the "support" vehicle. Number ONE item: A canopy for shade! We set up a table, chairs, cold drinks, etc. The Van carries a full set of tools, tires, parts, the usual stuff.
Once I took a generator, TV and my PS2 with racing games (once). It was kind of fun, but there were SO many people in my pit area "playing games" I couldn't even sit down at my own table!

Clois, The only thing that I used to take other than what is already listed was a spare set of axles. Broken axles at the track really sucks. Tow truck drivers are kind of rough when it comes to helping you load on a trailer with their booms, and there is no driving it home without an axle. 8.8 axles are kind of hard to find when you are in a hurry or really need one!

I forgot to mention this was not for my cobra, it was when I was racing roundy round in the dirt. Mini stock and mod-4 guys were continually spitting out axles. When I raced ouotlaw streets we carried extra 9" axles everywhere that we went!

I don't have any axels but I do have and extra ring gear and pinion (3.73:1).

You obviously have a helluva lot bigger trailer and tow vehicle than most of us here, Clois...! And, obviously, you 'race' while I just 'do track events'.
I've found that good preparation eliminates most of the need for work in the pits. I take a small compliment of hand tools, and keep a 'special' set of tools in the trailer at all times. My approach is that I need to have enough with me to replace items that may fail...but only those items that I can replace in a couple of hours. I don't have a 'pit crew'...it's me....I do it all....change tires, fuel the car, drive the car, park it, load it, unload it, etc. etc. etc.
I have enough with me to replace a fan belt, radiator hose, sparkplugs, change tires, etc. I carry hand tools, jack stands, floor jack, radiator hoses, couple of fan belts, pre-gapped sparkplugs, couple of fuses, light bulbs, race wheels and tires, some brake pads, and that's about it. If something breaks that requires more than a couple of hours to repair, then I figure the weekend's done for me...time to sit back and drink! 
Seriously, if something breaks to prevent me from driving, I don't want to spend all weekend trying to repair it...those repairs are better done at home in the relative comfort of the garage without the 'pressure' of needing to hurry to get back on the track. Chances usually are that in our haste to repair something, shortcuts are taken, sometimes causing more damage and compromising our safety. I'd much rather load up the car in these circumstances and simply set back and become a spectator for the rest of the weekend than spend a frantic 2-3 hours under the car trying to replace a part just to get another 20-25 laps in. It doesn't seem like it's worth it to me.
Just my opinion here, Clois...and we all know what those are worth, don't we...?
I fly R/C airplanes as another hobby, and have done so for almost 20 years. I have a theory about those who have tried to repair an airplane, engine, or radio at the flying field. My theory is that if it doesn't work at home, it sure as hell won't work at the field. Check out all your equipment at home BEFORE you come the the flying field. Then, if something breaks at the field, sure you want to fix it. But...limit your repair time to 15-20 minutes. If you can't fix it in that length of time, you're probably going to force something and expose yourself to all the errors of omission that come with that self-imposed pressure to get the plane back in the air! I've always tried to teach student pilots the same philosophy...15-20 minutes work time. If you can't fix it in that length of time, load it back up and take it home for the repairs. I've had many guys I taught to fly come back and say that was some of the best advice they've ever received, and that once they got the plane home they discovered other items than needed attention and continued flying may have cost them their entire plane.

Haven't seen you around these parts in a while, I guess you have been a little STEALTHY lately.
Just getting ready to walk out the door and head for Run and Gun so lets hope all I need out of my trailer is my car. Most of us Run and Guners will check back in here on Sunday or Monday.
