Default Open Face or Full Face?

I just have to tell a Short story:
I USE TO ware only the open face until one saturday night after a race I was wiping off my helmet and noticed a chunk missing on the left side about 3" back. I guess a bolt, lugnut or piece of steel of some type came in and made the hit. Needless to say, it probably would have hurt if it had hit me in the face.
Since I had to purchase a new helmet, I went with the full face.

Turn the AC on if you're worried about getting a little warm.

Seems to me if you're worried about being a little warm you would really stress out at your inability to chew food properly if you have a bad accident while wearing that open face helmet....

While you may think you're only going to drive around as fast as YOU want to - remember that there are other guys out there - some with only the barest ration of common sense - and who may not have put their cars together that well - who will be sharing track space with you.

I hope he didn't wait this long to make up his mind.
Anyway SA2000 or newer, full face.

You guys have to remember your talking to a guy who rode his 65 Bonneville Trimuph around NJ rain or shine for 2 years with and open face helmet, it was my only transportation.

But now in my old age I have a little more common sense, I bought a full face helmet with the correct rating. So Beaver Run here I come.

BTW - I was told the SA2005 rated helment would not be available until October, anyone know if this true?

Mike
