Default TKO-600 wide ratios for racing?

Doing the numbers on the TKO-600 with 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, 0.82 I find there is a larger gap between 2nd and 3rd gear and for what reason I dont know. Second gear is low and third is about normal, if it was for a four speed box!

How do these transmissions work on the race track with either small or big block, any feedback please!

First gear should be your biggest concern. On the track the 2.87 will do you no good, whatsoever. Most of the competition Ford people actually like to use the "white stripe" Sebring box. That comes with a 2.13 first gear (1.56/1.19/1.00). This is a Toploader box not a Tremac, however.

Default TKO ratios

Ford of France

2.13 is great if you change rear end ratios for different tracks, because if you run any kind of cruising ratio 3.36, 3.08 etc generally speaking you end up doing about 75-80mph in first.

Compromise isnt easy if you want a dual purpose car or relaxed racer!
