Fuel Tank
Curt,
What I really need is the common system with two pumps, and having a separate small diameter tank eg 6" X 12-15" h, with a bypass connecting it to the main tank, so everything equalizes or if one pump goes harder than the other! But I feel with proper fuel system design one good pump and return line is all thats necessary.
If I make an alloy tank with baffles and a central pot the problem can be fuel getting to the pickup as well as holding it there with baffle design, I made a three cylinder design which sat on a flat bottom tank which had (3) different diameter tubes, and a 3/4x3/4 slot in the bottom of each one, but the inner cylinder had the slot facing forward so under acceleration/cornering fuel stayed there and the second cylinder had the slot on the rear, so under braking this contained the fuel, and the last was like the inner, this solved the problem of larger flat Cobra tanks, but that car was on radial tires, not slicks!
Having said all that I reckon I am better making a sump to go below the tank with say about (4) 3/4" diameter holes in the tank floor feeding it, and fill the tank with foam, and maybe have two or three big baffle plates with the corners cut out to restrict slosh! Whats the old saying keep it simple, but its still got to work!
