Default Noise Insulation

Would using open cell or closed cell foam have any benefit in reducing noise?
I want to insulate the rear wall behind the seats and the trunk?

Dynamat works nicely and doesn't consume much space. Its primary function is noise reduction.

Dynamat base with a foil lined jute pad if you have the space under carpet.

The open and closed cell will also fall apart due to the rubbing from expansion and contraction. Dynamat is the way to go.

Why bother? How much noise do you have coming through there? With sidepipes and an open roof I can't imagine there'd be any noticeable noise reduction from insulating the wall behind the seats and the trunk.

Its worth it. I did the trunk and wall behind the seat. Also did the trans tunnel. More engine noise and less transmission gear and rear end noise.
