Slip on side pipe exhaust leak

I have a exhaust leak on one of the pipes where the header and side pipe slid together. Last fall I took it to a shop where we cut the the side pipe where it slides on to the header and pulled it together and welded it. It still leaks and I tryed to separate the header from the side pipe but they are welded together.
Looking for a suggestion to fix; I can JB Weld the joint shut or cut the pipe to separate it and repair it....thoughts??

Your kind of screwed if they welded your slip joints together. Was it the tabs at the joint they welded or the actual pipes. if the tabs you may have to cut them off or apart. Then the tabs have to be repaired or replaced (more welding). If you get them apart you can try sealing them with this.

If much of a leak though - I would not expect a miracle. If one or more header pipes are a loose fit you may need to get a tailpipe expander and expand it slightly until it fits in the collector tighter.

The side pipe had a vertical cut put in it then the pipe was pulled together and welded together. The weld penatrated the cut and now the two pipes are welded together. I have tried the Walker product with no success....

OK - then it's the collector to muffler pipe. I guess welding the connection solid all the way around and painting with high temp paint is an option - although not a great one.
