OBX Car show
We had plans to go to Ocean City MD in May for their car show. Been there before had a blast. Last time we were there was 4 years ago and the police had really clamped down on the cruisers. Did some internet searches and a few phone calls, apparently the locals do not want the car shows, so city hall have the police turn up the heat on the car show people. By expensive tickets, impounding "unsafe car" etc. After doing more searching, found the Outer Banks NC has a long weekend car show . Looks like a very good time, talked with the promoter said 3-4 small towns are involved and everyone is happy the car show people are there, even the local PD. So we are going the end of April. Has anyone been to this show?

I have no knowledge with regard to the OBX April Car event. However, I do have some first hand knowledge with regard to the OCMD Car events. The bottom line is, due to the dangerous, unlawful and inconsiderate actions of some past attendies at these events, law enforcement has had to take measures to curtail the unwanted behavior. The poor judgement of a few unfortunately negatively impacts the rest of us. With that said, if you're coming to an OCMD Car event and your vehicle is legit and you abide by the enhanced restrictions during these events, you shouldn't have any problems. If however, you're someone who can't help getting caught up in the middle of the reckless debauchery, you should probably go elsewhere, that behavior is no longer tolerated. The only event I would recommend not attending and has been the cause of a lot of the enhanced enforcement is the H2O event, which is no longer a sanctioned event, although there are still pop up events of that nature. I hope this helps shed some light.

My car is a bit on the loud side, makes a boat of hp and sounds like it. So yea it doesn't sound like a prius. I attended the show 3 years in a row and had no problems. But when I talked to the local pd this year about the show, comment was (All city ordinances are strictly enforced). I spent way too much money and time to get the car impounded and towed by joe bob's towing. The only place the car is driven aggressive is on the auto cross and drag strip. I agree with the H2OI crew brought the heat down on car show people. I watched the H2OI videos on youtube, bunch of idiots for sure. If I'm wrong I apologize, if I'm correct this could really hurt the city. Car shows bring in a ton of money, people will stop coming if they're afraid of tickets or getting cars towed.
