Sway Bars
I installed "JEGS" adjustable sway bars front and rear. Wow did it stiffen the ride but the handling is crazy better. Also changed out the factory shocks front and rear with QA1 shocks. Have a buddy who races sprint cars so was able to scale car, set all 4 corners as close the same as possible. On a hard launch rear of car wanted to jump to right. Added more weight to right rear now leaves straight as an arrow. Only down side is how rough the ride is at slow speeds. Was in Tennessee last fall found some really neat back roads wow what a blast to drive.

I'm using QA1 shocks all around - I believe they're set at step 4 in front and step 3 in rear - starting as step 1 as softest. Front springs are 465 lbs/in amd rear springs are 300 lbs/in. West Coast Cobra with iron-headed 460, so among the heaviest of all Cobras.

I’m interested in adding sway bars as well. Do you have the part numbers to the Jeg’s sway bars that you used. I would greatly appreciate it. Also can you explain how you mounted them. We’re they a bolt on or were they welded on brackets?

Jegs Drag Race Anti-Roll Bar Kit [32 in. Overall Width]
Part Number: 555-60570
I had to build my own brackets. Front was a pain, but the back was easy. I welded the brackets on. I added a couple of pictures in my photos of front and rear sway bars. Hope this helps

Thanks for that info. I saw how you did it in your pictures as well. I’m also changing the lower mustang II set up for a true Lower A Arm set up. What kinda trans are you running with that 408 Windsor.

The 1999 through about 2004 (or so) Mazda MX-5s very closely approximate the weight and wheelbase of a Cobra (2300 lbs, 89.2 inch wheelbase, 56.7 inch rear track and 55.7 inch front track). There could easily be a range of aftermarket performance sway bars of differing torsional strengths available for these cars that might be relatively easy to adapt to a Cobra.
