Oil pan ground clearance
Does anybody know of a small block oil pan that will give better ground clearance. My pan is stock and I'm only getting about 4" GC. Not that it's dragging bottom but it kind of worries me what with Louisiana roads being third world construction and all.

Toby,
Try looking at some of the road race type pans that have a flattened out bottom kind of like a T. I have an 8 quart one on my motor and it is great. Ron |
Oil Pan
Toby,
Other than looking for a low profile pan, there's not much you can do. You can try to raise the front up a bit. You should be able to get about an inch without affecting the look and rake. You will probably also have to raise the rear to keep the rake and look consistent Tony |
Ron- Have looked at some t pans and so far all have beenstock depth or worse.
Tony- I've been considering just that! and think I got the room. Thanks for the info, by the way, ever hear of a cobra club in north Louisiana? Actually closer to Dallas than south La. |
LA
Toby,
I have a friend who I met through here who lives in Shreveport, LA. He sometimes posts in here under the nickname of CaseyT. Do member search and send him a message. I'm sure he's probably heard of the LA club you're speaking about. Tony |
I have a 351 with the Milodon Cobra Road Race Pan. It's a 'T' pan, low profile, at least 7.5 quarts and fully baffled. Best price at the time was from PAW in CA.
