Default It took long enough.

Well, It took long enough but I got up to NY and picked up my Cobra body and frame along with a bundle of parts. Started building as soon as I could.
I guess my first question of many to come is for Jerry W. Could you tell me where you got motor mounts for your 302? Thanks to all who reply. I hope someday to be of help to someone else but right now just a rookie.

Cool mounts

Joe has some. I think I paid him about twenty dollars. I welded them on rather than drill through the frame. Hope this helps.

Thanks Coobra, I guess I did not explain very well. I have those you are talking about from Joe. What I need is the part of the mounts that attach to the block. Looked at different places but can't find the right one.

Thanx anyway.

My mounts came with my 302. John York built my engine.
http://www.kitcar.com/york/home.html

His phone number is on the website. Try giving him a call, he is located in Virginia. John is very familiar with Antique & Collectible cars. Mention the engine you are using, he may be able to help.

I believe that the mounts are just Ford products. Try a local Ford dealer.
Good luck on your build! have fun, take a lot of photos. Wish I had taken more.

Keep us updated on your success in finding the mounts. I would be glad to help more if I can
Regards

I got mine from Mustangs Unlimited. I believe they were around 15 bucks.

By the way, good luck with your build. Check my build site for sources and ideas on your A&C build. http://www.priveye.com/cobra.htm

If you want to spend around $120 , I called Sumitt and got the Poly motor and transmission mounts.

Greg C
You should be able to get them from NAPA or any of the auto part stores.
Just tell them std 302 engine motor mounts. I had mounts for a 351 but thought I was moving to much and then bought a set of Mity Mounts, from Dynatech Engineering in Alta Loma, CA. 805.492.6134. They claim less movement, but, I still think I move too much.
Never could find the "Poly" mounts to fit my 351. If there is any help out there on the 351 mounts, I would still be willing to spend the $$$$.
Good luck, enjoy your build.
John York does have great experience, but then many at this forum do as well, Roscoe, (How's the ride, still running the black. I'm still running the yellow!)

Jim, got mine right out of the sumitt catalog. I believe they are late 60s early 70s cougar and mustang for 351s.

Default Motor Mounts

Greg,

I used stock small block mounts that I got from Autozone. However, due to the torque twisting of the engine, one of them began to separate at the rubber. Some guys drill through both plates and the rubber and insert a bolt with washers & nuts.

I found a set of poly mounts from prothane and they are designed to not separate due to torque twisting. Thay ran me about a hundred bucks. Their site is prothane.com
