Cool Manual windshield wipers wanted

Anybody like to rent or sell their clamp on manual windshield wipers? Needed for short run to DMV.

I would be interested in a clamp on manual wiper as well so that I could get my car through inspection.

Default Lead on wiper...

I am still pending inspection, so no guarantee that it will work...

I used the following from JC Whitney:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/I...D:100000218487

with a shorter replacement blade picked up at autozone.

I routered a piece of aluminum to slide into the windshield top rail with a mounting hole for the above assembly. Easy-on for day of inspection, easy-off for rest of the year.

When it said MANUAL wiper, that's what I thought was meant. I have a MANUAL one from a 30s era car that I have never used....you operate the crank with your hand to clear the window with the small blade. Now the accessory type that's being discussed are handled by a variety of Rod shops, used on a lot of T and Deuce roadsters and clamps to the upper windshield frame it has it's own switch and is usually plugged into the cigarette( what's that) lighter. We got our last one from Speedway Motors in Nebraska, but I don't think there are a large number of manufacturers so they are probably all the same ones.

Well I found speedway motors had some $20 model t wipers. Hey its a FORD! I fabed up some rough brackets out of aluminium. They have thub nuts on one side to clamp on the top of the windshield. Ugly but it should work.

Cool Ron,
I had about the same thing on a sand rail years ago but used a chrome faucet handle for the crank. PS....If your home-fix defroster includes a hose and can of pork n beans?

Any one looking for the windshield clamp block that is already fabricated; check out this link. I use their mounting block with the JC Whitney wiper assy mentioned in this thread to pass inspection. Had to modify the rubber piece to fit the windshield frame but not a big task.
