Perl, Welcome. Believe me, if your dingler freezes, you'll know it. Lap blankets work wonders when driving an open car in winter. Be safe. Look forward to laughing at your kilt on the 28th.

Back to the top as a reminder. Saturday after Thanksgiving Day. Yarnell Mountain and Sedona for lunch. Be there or don't!
McDonald's in Wickenburg at 10:00 Saturday morning 11/28/ We'll leave at 10:30 for a run up Yarnell and into the airport in Sedona. We're all following Pete and his new GPS. Probably a stop in Prescott for fuel and cold hands on warm tummies.

I'm planning on being there, although my passenger, Chuck, has given me a solid "maybe" as my navigator. The other Maricopan driver, Tom (lonestar 024) is racing at PIR that weekend, so I won't be able to follow him to Wickenburg.
If without a navigator, I would like to hook up with at least one of yus, and will get directions as event gets closer.
Ralph, hates to drive alone!

Ralph
You could hook up with Don Morse and the two of you could head to who knows where.
But seriously getting to wickenburg is pretty easy.

I'm really not afraid of being directionally challanged, but would feel more at ease in case of a mechanical challenge!
It's much less of a b!tch if you have someone around if something comes up, even something as simple as running out of fuel.
Just like in diving, it is always stressed that you go with a partner, whether it's scuba, sky or muff.

I will have to pass on the Saturday run. Apparently I have a broken rear differential mount on the passenger side. After Thanksgiving weekend I will take it into Charlie for a fix, but first I will jack it up and examine the situation in case it is something easier than I think it is. I am told the fix involves welding.

Sorry to hear about the trouble Bob, but at least your front brakes are still attached.

It may not have been Bob at all who did it. We heard the shop manager took it out for a hot lap.
Next time take it to Jeff.

Another good reason to keep strangers away from the gas pedal!

Wait a minute, Bob said, "...Apparently I have a broken rear differential mount on the passenger side"...
That can only mean one thing, it's the passenger's fault!
Never blame the driver when you can blame the passenger.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a good ride. I finally heard today from Roush (after calling 3 times) that my new forged pistons have been on backorder from their vendor and it will be at least 2 more weeks before my motor gets put back together. It has not been over 2 long months since we shipped the motor back to them. it sounds like it will be practically a brand new motor when it gets back. They are replacing most of the internals (rings, valves, valve guides, and pistons. The walls were scored enough they had to hone the block so it will have a few extra C.I. when it comes back.
Tim, if you are out there, how long did it take them when yours was shipped back. It sounds a lot like mine is getting some of the same treatment your did. I just cannot believe a company as large as Roush has to wait 4 weeks for a set of forged pistons. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Hey Ron,
I actually saw your car today. I was at the shop having a brake caliper repaired that lost a bolt by Charlie and I went down a size in the jets of my carb too. I asked about your car and he said he hasn't heard anything from Roush. 2 months is about how long mine was out. Worth the wait. It runs great. They did all the same work it sounds like you are having done. My cylinders were not scored though. I got new pistons, valves, beehive springs, ect. your car is just sitting there. Looks fine.

If all they did was hone the block that will not ad CI to the motor.
If they bored it that will add CI to the block.

Dan,
We have got some different stories so I dont know for sure if they had to bore as well. All I know for sure is that the regular pistons they use on this motor wouldnt fit and they needed oversized ones. We will see when it finally gets back
