Video is one of the most processor intensive things you can do on your computer. You have to have a fast processor or else it will take forever -- especially if you want to do any High Definition stuff. If I remember right ProShow is a great program but is primarily designed to make slideshows that can have video snippets inserted into them. You really need a dedicated video editing program to keep things under control. You could get Final Cut Pro which is the untimate for Mac's but costs more than a complete set of Michellin PS-2's, and again you gotta have a smokin' fast computer to take advantage of it. I use an old version of Magix Movie Edit Pro that I got somewhere on a deal on the web for less than $100. Sony makes a good video editing program called "Vegas Movie Studio" that's not too expensive and I've heard good things about it. Look around on the web for deals on software. I'm not all that familiar with video programs for Mac's but I'll bet there are many.
My PC has a 3.4 GHz single core processor with 2 GB of RAM and it's too slow for video editing -- takes too long but I guess it eventually gets the job done. I would love to have one of the new computers with the Intel I7 quad core processor with about 10 GB of RAM and a super fast video card. Oh yeah, HD here we come...
We gotta get more guys and gals into this video stuff because Cobra events are just made for video. Unfortunately there's a learning curve on doing good video that's pretty steep and I'm trying to learn. There are tons of different formats to deal with and keep straight too. A lot of fun though.
--Dan, some time ago I emailed Marti a link to download the Laughlin video in Quicktime format for her Mac. I hope she got it and it worked for her.
