New toys
We tried out some new toys the other day while hunting. Longest shot was 1,832 yards at our looooong range grass patch. A friend of mine made the shot using a SWFA 20 power scope. Who ever said these scopes couldn't handle heavy recoil was wrong, at least for the couple hundred rounds we shot this weekend.
Backstrap wrapped in bacon is pretty good. So not only can weapons be used for fun, protection but they can gather food too.

I use to own a few guns and belonged to the Indianapolis Gun Club. Then I moved out here and "they" broke into my house and took everything. Bastards! Besides, she would shoot her eye out with those things!

Toys
Buzz,
it's a 1919 Browning Machine Gun, 308, 30/06 or 8 MM. Different barrel for each caliber. It's a fun toy. I have other toys. I live in Alabama and before ammo got so high we would have 3 or 4 machine gun shoots every year. That would be back in the "good old days." Lots of guys have machine guns, they're just big boy toys, like a Cobra. For home protection we have shotguns, pistols and rifles. I have a 12" 20 ga 5 shot pump. It, like the machine guns are registered with the ATF under the 1934 Nation Firearms Act.
Most of our group like airplanes, guns and cars. I guess it's a man thing.

I was kidding about the home defense part, and I can absolutely relate to the toy aspect. I learned to respect and enjoy guns (along with other tools and machinery) early in life and though I get to shoot a variety of weapons (including my own) with some LEO buddies, I envy you the experience of cutting loose on the range with a real machine gun. That's got to be a real blast!

Ms
In MS silencers are ok if proper documentation. One of the most fun rifles to shoot is a silenced M-16 with a 22LR conversion. The ciener,(sp) kit works well in the full auto mode and you can afford to shoot a few bricks at the club. Its fun to pull the trigger and just hear the bolt slap back and forth then hear the projectiles hitting the target downrange. Another plus is not having to look for the brass.
A minus is how dirty it shoots. We have dedicated uppers for the conversions so we don't have to worry about cleaning the gas tubes.

I Like Guns!
I was reading some of the anti gun stuff. I like my guns and I don't feel any need to explain their existence vis-a-vis protection or hunting or collecting to anyone. I just like guns!
A friend of mine (who understands my mindset on this issue) sent me this link because he said he thought of me as soon as he stumbled onto it. I think it fits a lot of us on Club Cobra so I am going to share it with all of you.
Click here => I Like Guns!
Enjoy.

The People have the right to own and possess guns.
The People do not have to justify why they own or possess guns.
The People should not fall for claims otherwise, including scams to restrict by law or taxation.
It seems pretty simple now, does it not?

I took the Sig out to Ben Avery today.
I spent about 50 shell getting the scope dialed in and then had some fun.
At 50 yards it is dead nuts and at 100 yards I am with-in 1".
I can't hold the gun very still but I can get close enough.

Hey Dan,
Glad you finally took her out. Give me a call later and let me know what you thought about how it shoots. I know you only put a small amount down range but it should be a tack driver at 100 yards too with the new scope.
I have some brake rotors that should be a hoot to try and put rounds through the holes for the wheel studs. I threw a few things together for hanging/spinning targets that need to be broken in. Lets go make a bunch of noise out past Lake Pleasant (in the sticks)
