Whoa hold on there. There is a FORD RACING TSB 1566 that expressly states that ultra violet dyes ruin the sealant aound the seal as welll as breaking down the teflon in the seal.

Numerous failures have been document by various rebuilders including Roush and Shelby.

Whoa, hold on there. Roush maybe, but I don't know about the Shelby part. Did someone pay him to say that?

I did see where Z-Max has come out with a wonderfull new product that should be solution to all this dripping.

It's called Z-Drip.

Yes, Carroll uses it in all of his fine cars.

It also works on prostate problems.

Huh. Any chance you could post that TSB?

The dye causing problems MIGHT be related to extended use or using to much or to many times, that sort of thing. Like some things are OK in moderation, bad when used to excess.

TSB might clear up some of that issue (no, I don't want one from Shelby, bless his heart, but I have no idea how much or who might have paid him to write it).

Ernie, around these parts when you want to see the original piece of paper that someone is talking about you are "craving oyer." I just thought you'd like that.

Eh eh, as usuall that sent me straight to the Google...

So, what we need here a "deed read", or a craving oyer, either way, let the truth come out.

Personally, I hate relying on someone else's read of an important doc, like a TSB dealing with dye and engine seals. If he can't produce it, then we'll just chalk it up as "urban myth" and forever discount his posts as spurious blather.

I think But Nut is giving me a hard time about the dye hurting my motor.
Here is a link about dye products.
