Got The Bug, I recognize that console top! It appears to be very similar to the one in a 2000 Volvo S70, latch to the drivers side, cup holder slides out on the passenger side.

You do have to go to a shorter (~1.5 lb) fire extinguisher. The standard armrest is 8" high, which was too high for me. Steve will make it any height you want, so if you're interested, mock something up to measure the height you'd like.

may I suggest you get the removable, fold out cup holder from a Chevrolet SSR ( known as a GMT368 ).

You can put it just about anywhere, take it out if you need to and it folds up and out of the way when not in use.

Now I've got a Cobravolvo!

It makes sense that Steve found an existing top assembly, since designing a piece for a small run wouldn't be cost effective. It works for me and blends right into the car. He'll also upholster it to try and match the condition of your interior.

You want photo of cup holders in the tran tunnel like Mike Brasfield mentioned? This is my FFR Mk3 so there's a diagonal 3/4" bar (front left to back right) that is between the holes. With careful measuring you can have the holes even - not staggered. Cup holders are from Rex Marine, many colors in several sizes. These are the biggest so foam inserts keep my cans cool & coffee hug hot.

(Let's see, DWRAT, if you are serious enough to do this or just hang a plastic holder somewhere. )

I don't have a cup holder because I do not allow any drinking, eating, smoking, complaining, crying, diving, fishing or swiming while riding in my Cobra! Sit down, strap in, shut up, and hold on!

If you want a cener consol with a cup holder, and a radio, drive a mini van!

While I'm impressed and applaud some of these solutions, I must be the Neanderthal of the crowd...I simply wedge a couple water bottles where the seat, trans tunnel and rear bulkhead all collide. Simple, no velcro or bolts, and if I spill it's only water.

Snakebit, that's one beautiful car that you have. With all of the "NO" restrictions that you have I'd say that your drives are 1/4 mile at a time. Out here where the cities and towns are 100 miles apart we'll often drive two hours to get to an event, do the event and then drive two hours home. The drive home is always in the dark, even in the summer because sunset is 7:38 pm in southern Arizona and it's really dark by 8:15 pm. Also, the temptures during the day (and night) exceed 100 degrees so the convience of a cup holder becomes almost a necessity if you are going to drive any distance. As for your banning swimming, I must say that most of us out here in Arizona have encountered a sudden summer rain storm and sat in an inch of water, too shallow to dive in and swim but not enought to keep from complaining and crying. Your car would be safe here because we don't have any fish, you can ask any fisherman about that. Does your Cobra have an ashtray like the origionals ? Hope to see you at the LCS this year.

Nah. Our shirt reads, "Get in, sit down, and hold on. Scream all you like because they can't hear you over the sidepipes anyway."

Good question, Dan. I had to move the GPS into the glove box next to the toaster oven.
