Classic Roadster ???
What do you guys know about Classic Roadster?
I am being offered a second chance offer to buy this car as the high bidder backed out and said he didn't mean to bid.
The seller is offering it to me for $17,399.00
Is this a good deal?
Thanks

Unless something major is wrong sounds like a bargain. These usually have
a 351w so a 428 CJ is a bonus. Worth checking out at that price. IMHO.

DWRAT,
I like them but I own one. Jump on the CR forum here on CC and check with DV to see if he knows anything about this one. I have never seen one with a Jag rear end, though I guess it could be done.
As long as the title is clear and it runs good it seems like a good price to me.
I know that I would not sell mine for that.

Yes, it's a good deal. Like buying a kit and getting a complete cobra. And it's a big block, you may be able to keep up. Rear end gear? It's a 4 speed not 5. Dual quads will mean low milage. Perhaps compression or leak down test?
You need to drive it and bring a mechanic (Jeff) with testing tools.

Dan, be careful. It's amazing like my Contemporary and we both know how slow that is.. or isn't. THe jag rear end, it it is the 3.56 posi-lok is a good thing. IRS is, for my money, preferable to the straight axle arrangement.

This car is registered as a 1998, can it be changed to a 1965?
Being listed as a 1998 will emissions be required and if so what will it be based on?

No you can't change the year of registry that I am aware of and yes it will require emissions.

Yes you can. When I moved to Arizona my Midstates
Cobra was registered in Indiana as a 1987 Ford 2dr Conv. I registered it in Arizona as a 1987 and had to do emmisions testing. After four years of that crap I looked into it and went to the license branch at 48th st and Southern. They gave me forms to fill out and looked my body shape up in their book with photos. They compared the car to the 1966 Shelby Cobra. My new title was issued as a 1966 2dr conv. Recon, which is short for reconstructed. No more emmisions testing. I live in Texas now and the county I live in has no emmisions testing.

If it seems "too good to be true" be very cautious. The engine, trans, rearend cold cost you that much. Go see, drive and then make the offer.

Hersh, I've never heard of such a thing. Seems that all of the Cobra guys should take advantage of that opportunity. Thanks for the hand off.
