My Focus is dead
Well Thursday was a not my best day. I got hit my driver's door in my Ford Focus, pretty hard. I don't really know what everything that happen because I was knocked out for a bit from the impact but came around while I was still in sitting in the car just after the EMT's showed up. I had a Tramua nurse stop and start working on head wounds before the EMT's were on scene. They decided to Air-Evac(first helicopter ride and I couldn't look out the window) me to a Trauma center, and after a number of Xrays and CT scans I was released to walk out under my own power after a couple hours. I have a couple of good cuts (unknown number if stitches and 6 staples on face and head) and a bit sore in my left thigh, shoulder. I'm feeling pretty good today, I could run if I needed. I went out and looked at the car on Friday, this is probably the best pic.

Impressed how well it held up to that direct hit.

Wow. Glad your OK.
Did they cut the door off, or did the trauma nurse go 'Incredible Hulk' on it?

that's way it looks to me also. My daily driver is an '03 SVT Focus, and I although I have had a lot fun in it (146,000 miles), I've always wondered how well it would take a hit, seems like most vehicles around here (Texas) are gigantic in comparison.
One question for the OP, will you consider buying another one?
Z.

Yo Paulie, 'way to get one more FoMoCo off the road! Bet that made your eyes go round, as our beloved gov, Ev, would have said. Glad to hear that your injuries are relatively minor, although, they probably don't feel that way to you. You can bet it would have been a lot worse in the Cobra and thank goodness it wasn't. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

A lot of people don't give the small cars enough credit for being tough in a crash. Looks like it protected you very well. Just glad it wasn't a jacked up 4 wheel drive with a big Texas steel bumper. The out come may have been different. Glad to see that you are OK. GOD was on your side. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Paul,
Glad to see you up and around Saturday. I still find it amazing how well that little Focus protected you.
Makes you count your blessings.

Glad you could "walk" away from that one. Are you planning another Focus?
