Sunday Brunch
Anyone interested in a Sunday brunch run? South via the Kelvin Hwy to Catalina and breakfast/lunch/brunch in Catalina and then back through Florence or up I-10 as you choose? Let me know.

Let me get with some of the other Tucson guys. I know John lives up there, I will see if he has any recommendations. There are several restaurants/pubs in that area. What time were you thinking about being down here?

Dan, lots of ideas from John, but it would help to know how many are planning on coming down, what time, etc. in case we have to make any arrangements ahead of time with where ever we end up. Would it work if we all met in Catalina and took a run up to San Manuel or Globe? Heck....if you guys don't come down I might make that run by myself. It looks like a fun drive!

RIght now, it's just me. I don't see any replies from anyone looking interested. If you guys want to run up and meet us in Apache Junction, we can run down to Catalina, have brunch, you guys go home and we'll run back. That way you can come up the Florence Hwy and go back via the back road and we'll go down via the back road and come home on the Hwy. I don't know. What do you think?

Sunday is supposed to be sunny and 75 degrees..... (Sorry East coast guys.....) Now you got me thinking about this drive!!! I may go ahead and do this regardless. For me it would be a total of around 5 hours driving and 250 or so miles. Lunch in Globe perhaps......
Does look like a fun drive. (the red line would be from my house to and from Catalina)

You could cut about an hour off the driving time if you came down from Superior through Mammoth and Kearney. That is the route I'd thought about.

Hmmmm..... A sunny, December, Sunday afternoon...do I want to spend 5 hours driving my car or 4 hours driving my car.....? Is there an option to spend 6 hours driving my car???? Doesn't matter to me, but, if we are driving East on 60 from Globe returning home won't the Phoenix guys bail at Superior to head back? John got an email out to the Tucson guys, so we will see if anyone else from down here is interested. Since I am single I really don't have any Christmas planning to do, so I am up for anything. (77 North takes us past Christmas, Az...so technically it is a drive in the holiday spirit!)

I was thinking about leaving Mesa around 9:00. That would put us in Catalina around 11:00.

If this comes together we could all meet up in Catalina for gas/coffee around 11 a.m. and then head to Globe for lunch.....

Dan,
Where do you want to meet? Finalize that with a time and I'll get an email out.
I won't be there, so you guys have a great time.

I know.....his plan involves taking a drive for taco's out to a place that is literally walking distance from my house...... You guys have fun, but I want to take a drive and am going to make the run up to Globe.

Hey Dan, just to be clear per your message, I could meet you guys around 9:30 or so at the 79/60 at Florence Junction (B on the map), go through Superior, Miami, and Globe, down the 77 to Catalina to meet up with any Tucson guys who want to go.....correct? That looks very doable, although it means a much earlier start for me....just running the previous route backwards. Mark
